King Salman Center for Disability Research

Sector
Non-Profit Organisations
Country
Saudi Arabia

A non-profit research centre in Riyadh, founded by King Salman bin Abdulaziz in 1991. It funds and carries out laboratory and field research on disability — what causes it, how it is detected early, how it is prevented, and how people with disabilities are rehabilitated — and turns the findings into planning and assessment tools for the bodies working in the field.

Alongside the research groups it supports, the centre runs training programmes for specialists, organises the International Conference on Disability and Rehabilitation, and awards the King Salman International Prize for Disability Research.
